| okay so i have a lite on cdrw.. (48x12x48x) and nero only writes at 12x....it was working jsut fine till i rebooted my system . now its acting all funny n ! .... fcuk... i need help!:( :nervous: help please..... thankss.. |

and you have the burn speed selected in options as well as the final burn phase?
thats the only thing that should stop it besides your computer being too slow. But if its a recent thing, its the same ol routine. Update drivers, reinstall program.
Personally, I would use alcohol 120% its a solid solid program. and yes its available. |

so in what??? my cdrom burns me a disk in 10mins and it's only 8X in writing speed, a 12X cdrom would burn it in 6minutes. so the problem (as i consider) is that you have no free 6 mins.
(the typing skills + my english led to that i wrote this comment in 5mins, your CD would probably be overburnt by now:haha: ) |

Clyde here is the solution to your problem...Nero has a system that checks the quality of the media as it burns and will continually compensate if it "sees" that errors are occurring. There is a way to turn this feature off.Look under the "choose recorder" and you should find a feature called Smart Burn. I would not recommend turning this feature off because it actually detects if errors are present and compensates by slowing down the write process. My recommendation would be to get some good media aka TDK or Tayo yuden.

I've got a Plextor 40x and it's never failed to burn a CD in under 2½ minutes (except when burning MP3s, which is limited by the decoder speed). |

it worked perfectly fine b4, the same media (memorex 40x), same computer, same cdrw, the same software.
before nero has a selection of 1x 2x 4x 8x 12dx 16x 24x 36x 40x 48x..
now the only thing i have is 1x 8x 12x and 48x, becuse of the media im using which only can be writen on at 40 x, wont let me burn @ 48x, so it jumps all the way down to 12x. but it should be like that. it hsould come down to 40x. but its not onthe selection. that's my problem.. i have to somehow get it back there.
or maybe i should get rid of nero? any other good burners (software) out ther?
