I went to the AIR VIP opening on friday and i have to say they have completely and utterly ed godskitchen up the arse with barbed wire rolling pin. Gone is the lovely big open main room, instead you have a pokey litte undercroft space with a low ceiling that blocks off the view of theDJ booth if you stand more than 5 metres back. Oh and if you stand closer than 5 metres you cant see over the top of the DJ booth. The stairways to the second floor will always be clogged with idiots trying to talk to the DJs not the DJ booth is situated right in the middle of them. Then the 'balcony' area up stairs is too ing loud to talk bacause of the speakers right near the stairs.
The Nitrogen room is a ing waste of space, barely big enuff to pack a decent crowd into for the likes of Andy Farley or K90. Not only that, the stomping of a few hundred hard house punters is easily heard and off putting in the main room below.
The Carbon room is much the same, ie too en crowded.
In short the whole club has been conveted into a series of pokey little spaces and has no big open spaces at all. The main room capacity is probably about 800 fully rammed, which is going to go down well when 1500 people pay to see PVD and less than half of them can fit in the in room, but hey im sure theyll be happy to go and sit in the hard house room instead :whip: :whip: :whip:
