I'd like to get started DJ'ing with cd's so after much research I've come up with this setup to fit my initial ~$1000 budget. My goal is to practice with these at home for quite a while. If DJ'ing is something I will be doing a year from now, I will upgrade.
2 Pioneer CDJ100S Pro CD player's ~$600
Behringer DJX700 ~$200
Numark M-40 Powered Monitor Speakers ~$90
Pioneer HDJ1000 Headphones ~$130
That comes to about $1020 (shipping may push it a little higher), which is okay. Thoughts?

Pioneer CDJ-100 for $267 New
HDJ-1000s are great, I love mine. However, get some M-Audio Studiophile BX-5 Reference Monitors, they're $300 for the pair at djmart.com (PM DJ_Tranz for a special TA deal). Spend some extra cash on these, you're not gunna wanna cheap out on some Numarks just to have to get a new pair once you figure out what they sound like... With the cash you have left over, get a decent amp or reciever on eBay (Don't spend more than $50-$100), thats really all you need. |
