"On August 21, 1998, Kevin Green, then 21, robbed a convenience store owned by Lawrence and Patricia Vaughn. Patricia Vaughn, 53, died during the robbery after being shot once in the temple, twice in the chest, and once in the abdomen. Lawrence Vaughn survived but was shot in the neck and elbow. Green claimed that the killings were an accident. He claims he was attempting to declare a robbery when the gun accidently went off."
