| quote: | | Despite being a rabid technophile and having a somewhere around 60GB of MP3s, we still have a soft spot for vinyl, and when it comes to deejaying, prefer spinning actual records over CDs. We have to concede, though, that digital turntables keep getting better each year, with the most promising new entry being the SL-DZ1200 Digital DJ CD Player which is coming out from Technics. It isn't actually available yet, or even been officially announced, but a few prototypes pf the SL-DZ1200 were spotted at a music festival in Japan, and it's gotten a lot of people very excited. There aren't a lot of details, but it looks like the SL-DZ1200 very closely mimics Technics' famed 1200 turntable (the gold standard for DJs worldwide), and has a full-sized platter for "scratching" and an SD memory card slot for beat matching and mixing MP3s. |
Cool. Looks like quality!
Probably only for professional use, too expensive!
Price? Any idea? ;) |

We saw these before and I think we guessed the price around the $1100-$1400 range a piece.

technics are using the same motor out of their SL series of turntables to power the spinning platter on the cd decks. |
