My Audiophile drives me mad! Need some help!

My system instantly reboots as soon as I notch a part in Logic's (LAP 5.5.1) arrange window.
I disabled all onboard components beside the USB, I tried different buffersizes for the ASIO,
and I tried any PCI slots for the Audiophile.
No matter what I try, the system keeps rebooting, as long as the Audiophile is the selected
output device in Logic.

My system:
Graphic: ATI Rage 128 ProII (oem)
Sound: Audiophile 2496 (Driver Version 5.10.00.29 [2003-06-13])
Mainboard: Asus A7V8X-X BIOS Ver. 1006 (latest)
CPU: Athlon XP 2600+
Memory: 2x512 MB (Micron) [Tested 33+ hours with memtest86 - no errors]

Any help is highly appreciated :)

Thanks in advance,
Frank

What operating system are you running?

If it is XP:
Despite having the latest drivers, if they arent digitally signed by microsoft for use, then they will possibly cause problems. For example when opening the ASIO for output, it could be encountering a problem with the driver code, and crashing your computer. Also if the drivers you are using are intended for an XP version with a service pack installed then certain libraries are unavailable and will also cause problems. Check to see if your driver is digitally signed, and also if you are using the right windows version/build/service pack.

Hope that helps!
