Problem with fruity studio

I've been working with fruity studio for some time now, but I have one problem. Each time I load up a Vst, like the Absynth, I create a melody in the piano roll. But to make the sound more interesting I want to pan the different notes. But every time I change the panning settings in the bottom of the piano roll, this isn't working on the sound. Also the velocity doesn't change the sound either. Does anyone know what I can do about this?
thanx

hmmmm....are you doing it in piano roll or in the sequencer (you know how you can click that thing in the corner and set it to the notes)? i don't know if that will help but maybe try both? |

carefull on the PAN, don't do the ch pan or you'll chage the whole thing while in the piano roll pan you just change it in that pattern, what I leared on the velocity is that its like volume (atleast to me) give more details cause it works good with myne |

I think this might have something to do with fruity not being able to control those features when you are using a VSTi. When you have a plugin going, fruity just serves as the midi controler, sending out the notes to be played, and the receiving the audio and playing it out. So when you are adjusting things like pan it might not be sending that information to the VST. It should work for velocity as long as the synth you are using is compatible with it, absynth is i know. For pan i dont think its gonna work because midi doesnt send separate notes for left and right channels so what you can do is take your fruity sequence and put in its own channel in the mixer and put a pan effect on it, that way it processes the sound that is comming back from the synth, not trying to send panning notes to the synth in the first place.
I hope this helps, if anyone knows that something i said is incorrect please let me know! |

yeah, I guess you are right about Fruity not being able to send panning commands to the VSTi. Well, then I can't use the piano roll for panning, it's a shame.
I am already using the pan of the channel to pan the sound, it just takes a little more time to get all the panning of the notes right with the automation and sutff. But it will work.
thanx for the replies!!!

U could export the sound to WAV and reload it in normal sampler |

yeah, I thought about exporting the wav sound too, but that always leaves me with some kind of degredation of quality. But I have had considerable succes with the automation of the panning.
Thanx for the replies!
