appealing admissions decisions

nebody here have any success with appealing an admissions decision at a uni of their choice? im thinking of appealing a decision and would like to receive any good tips and advice from those who have appealed and gotten in...

| Not sure why you would want to go someplace that turned you down. There are plenty of good colleges out there. |

| to be perfectly honest it also annoys me that i have to do like this to get into sumplace where im not wanted...but the only other alternative is to wait almost a whole yr. because most colleges only accept during the fall...and thats even worse, IMO |

So you only applied to one college or you didn't get accepted anywhere? |

When I was in high school the EARLY application deadline was almost always Nov 1 and they would accept applications up until like January.
You just have less of a chance if you don;t get in before the "early" deadline.
Appealing will do you little good. They almost always have more applicants than open slots.

My brother had this problem, what he did was get letter of references from department heads at his high school (I am assuming you got just got out), thats only way I would do it.
But like OmegaSox said... there are plenty of colleges out there that may be a better choice for you :) |

i dont know about colleges you havent gone to but two of my friends got booted from mcgill because of low GPA and they appealed writing a letter they were depressed and on medication (true for one of them) and they got back in
maybe write them a letter stating what you can offer them(make it good), have a few letters of recomendation
and ive heard HUGE cash donations help:tongue2 |
