The first movie was terrible....bad music (a lot of it sounded like a 13 year old with fruityloops), disjointed plot, wasn't really scary at all to me, just a giant gorefest...and I'm one of the most hardcore RE fans there is.
Though, I guess it could of been worse, Romero could've done the script. |

Oh my ing God....Resident Evil!! What a ing joke. If anybody is interested in a REAL Zombie movie, check out Night of the Living Dead (1968 version AND the 1990 colour remake), Dawn of the Dead from 1978...possibly THE best Horror/cult movie of all time and also Day of the Dead from 1985, a lesson in how to make the most digusting but realistic movie gore effects. This is George A. Romero's classic trilogy, which retarded video games like Resident Evil and House of the Dead, which is now a big studio movie, completely RIPPED OFF.
There is a Dawn of the Dead remake coming out in March that was also filmed in Toronto starring Sarah Polley (yes, the Canadian girl) and Ving Rhames. I can't wait to see how many idiots across North America start saying how this new zombie movie is "such a ripoff of Resident Evil"
    |

So..I take it you think Romero would have done a BAD script? Are you seriously saying you like Resident Evil more than the Living Dead films? Wow man.......such great taste. |

I didn't think the first one was anything special either TBH... I've seen far better movies that's for sure. I don't really see the point in making a second one either but that's me :p |

Hey, was that filmed in Thornhill (at Thornhill Square)? If so that is 5 min away from my house and could see tons of movie camera's, a giant green screen... |

| dunno, but the scene I saw was filmed at Cherry & Front Streets. They TRASHED that intersection! Overturned & burned cars, buses, & helicopters. |

They were posting stuff about how he wanted to do the the scripts a while back in preproduction...Don't get me wrong, I loved night of the living dead, have seen the original and remakes, but the directors said they couldn't work with Romero because he kept trying to make the movie another evil dead, and wanted to put sunglasses on one zombie, put in one liners, etc... The production crew said they tried to work hard with Romero to come up with a serious script for the movie, but had to drop him eventually because his ideas were too absurd.
Look at Daikatana, probably the worst game ever made. Romero isn't producing the same quality stuff he used to be. It's like George Lucas...the original star wars were film classics, but the new ones just kind of suck.
edit: the actual romero script is online now...it apparently doesn't seem _too_ bad... http://web.tiscali.it/no-redirect-tiscali/loadingstaff/resident/rescene.htm |
