Yeah, that fooled me for all of about 0.1 nanoseconds.
Mysticalball is lame and it's been posted a thousand times too. I can't believe anyone would put so much time and effort into a stupid math trick I learned about in grade 3. Woo, multiples of 9 have digits that add up to 9, that's FANTASTIC, there are SO many WONDERFUL things we can do with that crazy info! :rolleyes: |

You subtract it FROM the original number. That means 50 - 5 = 45.

Realmagic had some lame ones, but this one sort of makes you think for a bit (I've seen it before but I had a lot of trouble with it the first time):

Yeah, I don't want to give it away for everyone, but I will say that both the top and bottom figures take up exactly the same area, so it's not at all impossible.
It's not obvious in the lame sense like all those other "tricks", but the explanation is just simple geometry. |
