I'm thinking of starting up a clothing company (local & online), but i can't think of a good name. here's a list of ideas me & my friend came up with:

Progress
analog
reverb
909
synthesis
X
grease
SL12
ItCa
lucid
distort
revolve
conceal

please tell me which names apeal to you more, or let me know if you can contribute.

for now i only have direct resources for t-shirts, muscle tops, tanks tops, sweaters, beanies and hats. But I also hope to eventually go all out with pants, underwear, etc.

let me know what you think & if you have any ideas.

Banana Republic was already taken...damn...

hmm...honestly I wouldn't know what to tell you...I'm not a person that buys a label...I buy what I like and fits me.

others peeps probably buy into names and fads and may be a better help for ya...good luck!!!

I suppose it depends what sort of niche you're aiming for... I personally like abstract sounding names so:

Sounds cool. If you pronounce it it-kah it's also pretty catchy... Now think up a nice logo.

For me lucid is clearly the most 'catchy' name out of those, and it doesnt sound too cheesy so id go with that.
The logo will matter more to most people probably, ud better spend loads of time making sure u use the right 1, assuming ur talking about a company like adidas and nike etc not a retailer
And of course make sure the names not already taken

It does also depend on what kind of clothing you are selling. You should do some market research in the demographic you are targeting and see what they find the most appealing.

I buy clothes on comfort first, look second, and brand name far behind in third.

But I am a guy with no fashion sense....

Good luck with yer clothing ideas.

well what kind of people are u tryin to market ur clothes to?
if its more along the lines of trance addicts or anthing like that...then ur asking in the right place.

i would think of a kind of underground name like:

digital underground
digi-ground
Euphoria
digital nirvana
and so on....

these probably sound like horrible ideas but thats not wat im tryin to give ya. Just tryin to get a spark in ur head to start. But try to stay with a name that best suits u also. This may not be of any help at all either but at least i tried right?...lol

Let me donate my $.02 for what it worth.

I would do some research on the type of business u want to start. Get a book on small biz. Talk to ppl who r doing it. The name is the least of ur worries.

My sis recently started a business selling world gifts (incents, oils, jewelery, clothing...). She finding it difficult to break even. She got a fulltime job and doing this on the side so it takes a lot of pressure off. My point is its better to be prepared and have a good strategy b4 jumping in and losing a load of money and time.

djeternal
hahah...i forget about that. I take back digital underground. lolz...
