ok..so I recently got a new computer. it has XP.
I tried installing Diablo 2(to kill the time) and the game wont work.
I cant figure out why. I even went Properties->compatible with 2000 system config and it still doesnt work.
the blizzard screen comes up, then it just freezes. EVERYTIME.
Is it possible to run Diablo 2 from way back in the day on my XP?
I was able to install Office 2000 no problem. This is bothering me. I need to kill time!!! |

Is it XP Home Edition or XP Pro?
Bizarrely, although XP Home is the consumer oriented version, I've had trouble with games on it that work fine in XP Pro. Previously I was on XP Home Edition and I tried installing NFS High Stakes. Running compatibility mode and every available XP fix patch wouldn't get it to work. However, after installing XP Pro, I ran the first "XP fix" google came with for it and it worked fine. Similar story with Midtown Madness 2 which had a flashing sky and road, but ran perfectly in XP Pro. Off the topic of games, I also had major IE bigs with XP Home, where java and javascript totally failed on me. I've had none of these such problems with XP Pro so I think overall it's much better than Home Edition. |
