First Track Ever - please listen and give feedback

It's short (~3:50), a sampler if you will, created mainly by a friend of mine (but i added some of my own elements)..
I think it's tech-trance, but my genre definitions aren't quite polished yet. The mp3 gets a little distorted at some points (not sure why) and the hats come out louder than they are in fl4, but it should give you the general idea of what we're doing with it.
Anyway, made solely with FL4.

Well, if this is your first track 'EVER' it is not that bad at all. But you said your friend mainly produced it. Got some good SFX going on too! I guess there's a lot for you to learn as a producer (mess with the levels on the hats), but wow, some serious potential!
You've come to a good place to show your music. You'll get some good critique from some great producers here. Your friend is a great producer, and has some good elements - but of course many things can be polished!
Cool snare rolls, nice SFX, and the melody isn't that bad. Keep up the work. Just add more elements (work on percs, add a clap if necessary, but the fullness effect is there - not bad at all mate!) -Mental |

New version:
5:08 now - I (me this time, not him :p) added an additional melody that he created but left out - you'll hear during the breakdown (an element the other version was lacking), and i toned down the hats.
