I agree mostly.. Newegg is KILLER for most stuff. There are few things that you can find a better deal on, but up to now, i have had NOTHING bad to say about newegg. Fast shipping, great prices, cheap shipping cost.. etc. INCREDIBLE place to shop from.
as on your parts:
Get an NForce Mobo with integrated audio and LAN. unlike what some people think, it is DEFINETELY good. Bought my Abit Nforce mobo back in February and although it is the TIER older version I got my FSB to 200MHz (400 DDR) and that gave me a nice overclock on my CPU. The sound is fine unless you want to do something super-special, but in that case you should know more about soundcards than me. The integrated video isn't the best of them all, so maybe you'd want to shell out some of the $$ you save on the LAN and Soundcard for a nice RADEON. 128MB are still overkill, but i don't think you can get anything smaller than that at this point.
anyway, get yourself a NICE power-supply. Enermax' are definetely sweet and you will be able to keep them through many cases. While some people might suggest a PSU is a PSU is a PSU that isn't really the case. Some 300W PSU don't even supply 250W and their rails will drop below certain tresholds and your pc will crash. Trust me, and many other people who KNOW THEIR STUFF on this one, if you get a ty power supply and you really want to tweak your system, you will NOT be happy. I have made the mistake in the past and learned from it....

DigiNut I didnt mean to insult you, and if I did I'm sorry.
But its a fact that Antec makes the best PS on the market, my Antec 1080A case came with Antec TruePower 450watts and its great! the PS by itself goes for $100+. |

I can make it work at 6000RPM but thats wayyyyyyyyy to loud, my wife wont agree to that, and neither would I.
At 3000RPM its great, cools good and not loud. |

werd. all the upgrades i could do with my pc were
1. remove hard drive + cd-rw drive & put in 2 bigger hds
2. add new sound card + lan card
3. expand RAM to 256mb
not bad, but when you computer can't physically fit more than 3 drives + floppy + doesn't have enough power wires, it's kinda said.
by the way, my current power supply says "100W" on it. i'm wondering how the i've been able to use it for almost 4 years. |
