My understanding is that if you get a good soundcard you will get better sounding CDr when you burning them from progs like Traktor, CE, REASON, ETC...an i right? and i got soundblaster live x-gamer 5.1...does any one know how to install these things???? i tought it would be easy but i cant get it to work!

I think your right about the better soundcard better quality, but I think thats if your using stuff outside your computer like synths because it reduces latency.

As for your soundcard a number of things could of happened. First make sure that you uninstalled your old soundcard's drivers before you put in your new one. The old drivers could cause some conflicts.

Explain your situation a little more I'll try and help best I can :)

I think that the better soundcard should help.

Now what exactly is going wrong try to describe it as best you can.

Try moving the sound card to a different pci slot, sb sound cards have probs with certain pci slots, especially pci slot 2 (next to agp) :)

Alright, I have a Soundblaster Live soundcard, and two desktop speakers. So I have the Soundblaster settings set for two speakers, but when I set the balance (L/R) to the center, the sound is very distant and echoes! But when I put the balance all the way to the right or left, it sounds full, and normal, BUT, when certain tunes have sounds that travel from one speaker to the other, the sound is lost when it moves to the opposite side that I have set on the balance, you know? Is this a speaker problem, soundcard problem or what?
