hi there! i'm about to buy my first direct drive turntable pack! but i dont know if it is a good choise! I want to spend 700 to 800 euro's for it so here's what ive found:

turntable:
Reloop RP-4000 MKIII Chrome LTD (259 euro) or the
JB-Systems Q-30 (249 eur) i go for the jb cause both (reloop and jb) have the same turntable (same factory just their names on the pack)

mixer:

Behringer VMX-200 (149 euro)

headphones:

Stanton DJ Pro 2000 (89 euro)
or:
Gemini EM-300 (84 euro)

so what do you think? is it good enough for a advance cd dj that begins with decks? hope to hear it!

regards,

Bram

Not too sure about the conversion, but I got 2 barely used Tech M3D's, 4 channel Numark mixer (1820x), 2 M44-7 complete needles, and a shipping case for $975 US shipped to me...all you would need there is some headphones...but if you are already a CD DJ, you should have some already.

what is conversion? thanx for the advise :eyespop: didnt get much out of it cause my english isnt that good :) any other comments would be welcome cause its a large ammount of money (for me though ;))

I'm not a huge fan of them JBsystem turntables, I got the Q30, And I'm not happy about it AT ALL. It has a VERY weak torque, it buzzes and the needle skips. I'd rather go for something better, like, eum, the SynQ XTRM-1 (450€)

The ST100 from stanton:
http://www.orbit-dj.com/scripts/pro...p?ProductID=389
(it says 500€. But I can get it for ya for 389€ (PM me)).

I hope you don't get one of those Q30's. You'll get sick of them after less than a month. It'll be a waiste of money( and like we know dutch people, they're pretty greedy :stongue: (just kidding :D ))

just get some 1200s. i understand what it is to be on a budget. i put my technics m3ds on lay away for 2 months, i went and visited them every week, and i thought about getting my money back to just get something cheap so many times, cuz i wanted to spin so bad, and i wanted to spin NOW!. but when i finally got them, i wans the happiest guy in the world. they are now my pride and joy. trust me, save up a little more money, be patient, and get what you want, dont settle for only what you can afford.

the q30's have a: Starting torque: > 1600 g/cm
the technics have a: 1500 g/cm

the q30's are less stable (because they are lighter) and when i buy the q30 i get a better (concorde :conf: ) needle with it. They remove the caprice so the needle would be more stable. (dont mind the english cause its really bad a the moment).

so what do you guys think about it now. Any comment about the mixer and the headphone? for the headphone i go for the: Stanton DJ Pro 2000 (89 euro)

regards,

Bram

ps i know technics are the best but im still a bedroom dj! If i can turntable on the q30's i can do it on technics (i think)... :eyespop:

Couldn't agree more.

I'm sure you could find some posts on this forum from the beginning of 2003 where I was agonizing over which turntables to buy.

I bought a pair of Technics MK2s, and I've been very happy with them. And believe me, you realize that the price was worth it as soon as you unpack them from the boxes.

Chintz on your mixer (as I did), it can always be replaced later. But if you can possibly manage it, don't buy cheap turntables.

i understand the whole issue of 1200s are the best. But as i am a poor student, and have been saving money and work extra for over 6 monthes now (i am so bad in saving money(gf, go out, you'll know it)) that i am sick of waiting! I want to spin NOW. every month i bought just 1 record, to keep me from getting freaked out.
I saw at new-line.nl the intermediate set, which is 2 reloop rp4000 mk2 chrome, 2 x Ortofon OMB-5 Element, 1 x Gemini PS-626i mixer and of course slipmats, for 669 euro, ex the dustplates, and ex fixing the 'space'.
I thought this was reasonable, and as i have a butget of 800 euro, i can buy a good headphone too. But what do you guys think of this set. Ok, no 1200s, but is it worth the money? Please give your oppinion, your thoughts about this!

sandah sends his regards!
