2 Computer Questions

Firstly, plese dont go mad at me for asking a non trance related question in a trance message board.
Question 1:
I know it's possible with previous versions, but i'm about to install RedHat 7.2, and i'm also running Win2k Pro.
About 3-4 years ago i had slackware (pretty early version) + win 95, and i was givin a prompt when booting up - LILO (Linux Loader)
Any similar tool in RH 7.2??
Question 2:
My computer's really slow at the minute. behaving a bit like it used to when it was infected with msblast / teekids*
it doesn't have the crap where u cant copy / paste, but when online i send so much more info than i recieve - sent: 2,424,299 recieved: 1,045,573
it goes fast neough for the first few mins after i connect, but then slows to a near halt.
* teekids = variation of blast worm
