| Since I am such a nice guy, I will help you out. I've heard the recent Steve Lawler essential mix and it sucked badly, he played such boring stuff. He used to play better dirty tribal house (nubreed 3 cd 1 and his essential mix from 16/07/00, pm me if you want that). Lawler was better back then |

I agree that recent Lawler's sets were a bit dull but he still rocks in live tho. |

| See steve lawler is a great deejay and producer but he has gone too progressive house. The great thing about lawler was he was the Tenaglia of the UK but he was different was tenaglia cuz he played tribal house with acapellas. Now lawler is adding prog house and trying to get that tribal house sound from it rather than going tribal house. I prefer his earlier stuff because it was far dirtier and just more tribal, when he played basco - only you, love you some more and stuff like that. Deejays move on but that style was ace...I doubt we like the same stuff anyway, I listen to a wide variety of stuff (some breaks, nasty tech house and trance and techno). |

Some good points there but there are certain things to look at. Just because he didnt play what he used to play on recent sets and albums doesnt mean he changed his music style, esp. when we talk about stuff like 'Essential mix' or 'Lights out'. |

| His live style has never really changed, he still plays dirty ass tribal house but his albums (dark drums 2 was a letdown) and some others have not been the greatest. |

boring?! Steve is anything but - his live sets just recently have been superb and he's now moved up to number 3 in my list of favourite DJs ;) His latest album is absolutly stunning
