Software Sound Demonstrations for Begginers

Been hearing that a lot of newbie producers are having trouble getting good synth sounds and therefore are blaming the software that they have:) Tsk tsk. Here's an flp that I made in around a half hour with standard fruity samples for percussion (:haha:) and pro 53 on all the synths. It's not a great melody or mastered incredibly well but it proves a point. So yes, you WILL need the pro 53 vst to open this and hear it correctly. For those of you who have had trouble with eq and compression there's some stuff in there for you to look at too, particularly the eq on the master track and the compression on the kick(try turning them off to hear the difference in sound).

If anyone else wants to share flp files or rns files to help convince new producers that they can create good sounds on the computer, that'd be cool. |

| Sadly i dont have Fruity and cant check it out, but this seems like the kind of posts that we need here. I think many non-fruity users, would like if anyone could go to the trouble and post a before/after eq/comp mp3, and explain the settings, if there are good production tips in that track :gsmile: |

This definitely is a great post. I guess newbies will definitely benefit from these sort of posts.
Unfortunately I haven't produced much trance lately, but maybe I can supply some other tutorials on different styles. Should be helpful as well.
I'd really like to see this post grow! Great initiative!!!

too bad i don't have pro-53
by the way, if you didn't know already, order does actually matter when you are adding the fx. So i usually tend to put the EQ and compressors at the bottom of the lists |

| Compressors always go before EQ, because otherwise you will be eq-ing the input sound of a compressor. Off course this can result in some interesting effects, but EQ's are much more powerful after the compressor. |

Why would you EQ after reverb and delay? I always assumed it was much cleaner to do it the other way around, with the reverb and delay being applied to the eq'd sound. |

true, for the master i always have the EQ as second last and compression as the very last
however, with individual fx i tend to do different things. just my own preference, but i usually do things like strings and pads with compression after reverb and with synths/percussion with compression after reverb and delay...
With kick and bass, you almost never want delay or reverb on it, so i usually just have EQ and compression |
