I've not much experience when it comes to Dj'ing so a good question to ask would be whats the difference between Belt driven and Direct driven turn-tables? Also whats best for a person thats just gonna start Dj'ing? Thanks in advance....

I'd recommend you look at the "newbies" thread... Anways, you want direct drive turntables, belt drive ones will make life miserable, they don't hold pitch worth . The best decks for DJ'ing are Technics 1200's, they are like $400, but worth the price, as it is the industry standard.

The 1200s are arguably the best decks. However, it all comes down to a matter of preference. The Numark TTX1 and the Technics 1200 are the top tables available and some like the techs, others like the numarks.

direct never go for belt btw i prefer the ttx over the tecs tecs are 2 plain

Companies should seriously abolish belt tt's. Direct drive all the way.

DJ1MK dont for get the Station STR-150/STR8-150 - those are pretty good tables as well.

I agree. They have more features and are 0.01% pitch accurate (just as the technics are.) And, they have a HUGE torque: 4.5kg/cm²(1.6-1.7 with techs). I do recommend these...

It doesn't matter which turntable you think is the best one for you, but the main rules: no belt drive, no belt drive and of course - no belt drive.

direct drive. period.

If you can afford it, get 1200s. If not, go for something maybe half the price but still reasonably good. I currently have Stanton STR8-60 and they're very good for people like me who need a decent deck but can't afford the techs :p

Belt drives are good enuff for playing records you just want to listen to. I just don't know why some companies have those beginner packages with belt drives in them...beginners will see the low price and not know any better.
