i dont know how many of u shop at the body shop...but at the moment in store they have a charity campaign to get people to give thier old mobile fones to help the victims of domestic violence...i think this is a fantastic idea so...if anyone has an old mobile(s)in a draw somewhere (i know i do ) please print off this label & stick it to a suitable envolope(the ones with bubblewrap)...its all free! or u can go into any branch of body shop and get a plastic sealable envolope from there and buy a badge for £1 while your at it :)

i hope u all do this... theres more info about it on the body shop website http://www.uk.thebodyshop.com
for all USA residents go to the us site version for details
thankyou! |

Sounds like a good cause...
Anyway just curious, how will donating phones help domestic violence victims? i'm not trying to be cynical about it, I'm just interested in how it works :)
I've got an old phone lying around, I'll probably pop into the Body Shop next time I'm in town for that. |

Yep u may remember there was a world wide shortage for chips (not the potato kind) due to mobile phone companies buying them all, heh, so i think im correct in saying they can recycle these, as well as a lot of other parts in the phone. So a very good way in raising funds. And everyone has a few bricks sat at home, that look like something out of world war one :D |

| I've enough mobile phones around the house that I'd be happy to get rid of, but I'm not in either the UK nor the US. |

| I think this is a good charity campaign. Everyone knows someone who is victim of violence. Im gonna find out if this is available in canada. |

| That is a wonderful idea. I have more mobile phones than I know what to do with. I'm one of those weirdos that gets a new phone every year. I hope they have a location near me:D |

| for once i will respond seriously. I don't know about the UK, but in North America, all cell phones can call 911 (999 in uk) whether activated or not. Therefore, victims of violence can you the phone in an emergency. I read this in a magazine, and have never tried to verify myself. |
