| actuallu what the "black paint" is for is to help keep the sun glare out of your eyes so you can see better and don't have to squint as much. next best thing to sunglasses. it actually works, did it when i played football in high school. |

How would you know? :p
"Eye Black" is what it is called. It reduces the reflection of light off of the upper cheek. Makes a big difference when you have to look up to track an object in the sun.
