Mixing on PC (pg. 2)

acid pro is an awesome program for creating mix cds. While I'd never use it for demo cds, I quite often use it to put together cd mixes for friends, especially when I want to use tracks I don't have on vinyl.

It's also pretty nifty for music production. I've considered using to replace Reason as my sequencer, and using Reason solely as a loop creation tool... however, the effects in Acid are weird. IE: delays are time based, not tempo-based.

Tempo is a form of time. Just ask yourself how many beats per minute there are, and convert it to milliseconds

for example

120 BMP = 500 ms (millisecond)
136 BMP = 441.2 ms
140 BMP = 428.6 ms

yes I understand how to do that. But, when I am just applying simple delay, but with multiple delays (feedback), its hard to get the proper delay 'sound' that I like from Reason.

my friends like me making mixes for them for their parties or whatever. I do all that on MixMeister.
However, when it comes down to real , i just use the decks. MixMeister is definently top stuff tho

Thankin you!

You might want to check out Mixvibes Pro software from their website. Its a pretty cool software, with scratch and vinyl options along with many other features.

looks a wee bit complicated.. usin atomix anyways and made an amazing set last nite
So..Atomixmp3 is for blending tracks together? Can you make remixes (or "mashups" of several songs as you hardcore trancies like to call them)?
Just wondering if there's a tool like this with a better editor for doing stuff like that.

Use Traktor 2.1 or Mixvibes 5.10.

Could someone explain how to mix tracks using Acid pro? (maybe someone has some kind of tutorial)

Traktor is a nice program to play with but the automatic beatmatching is just crap. I need to have 100% spot on mixing when making my own cd's.

BTW I suppose I need some kind of plug-in when I want to mix with acid pro?

Acid is not for live mixing, but it's excellent for studio mixing. Acid comes with a tutorial so try that one first and then ask around for any specific problems you're facing.
Scorpio Rising
Well mine didn't come with a tutorial.

I've got 2 tracks: one sounds as it is supposed to, but the other one just doesn't sound right when I load it in the top part of the screen. I don't know how to describe it but the tempo of the track sounds all ed up.
Maybe I just need to experiment a little more.

Do I need a plug-in to actually mix the tracks?
Is this the best program for 100% spot on mixing? (live or studio doesn't really matter)
