I think all will agree though he was an explorer, even if he was a ill-begotten mass murder.;) |

Mass murder because he and his men slaughtered several thousand Hispaniolans cuz they didn't bring him gold. The thing is Hispaniola didn't have any gold on the island. |

| - Ok guys, Im surprised on how little you guys know about Christopher Colombus. He is an explorer, and a genuine mariner. He did not do any mass murder, wherever you got that, let me know please. Instead, he became friends with the indians, and got along with them, traded and such. But then after, when he went back to spain, and brought gold, guess what.. the Queen Isabell sent more man, and had man on charge of Christopher.. very wack from her side, but yeah, she sent other guys to rule over and take over the lands that Colombus had discover, and THEY were the s.. they were even s with christopher colombus.. and they credited Americo Vespucio ( Hence name America ).. for discovering the Americas.. something that Colombus knew and would have done ( he only got to the Bahamas, caribbean islands, cuba but not mainland.. although he wanted, they didnt let him nor believe him ).. anyways, they credited Americo Vespucio for such, but later on, years after, after Colombus died, they changed their minds and gave the credit of him discovering America.. but no, it wasent Christopher Colombus ( Cristobal Colon ).. who did the murders, it was the s, ambitious son of their mothers who did all the damage afterwards.... so .. read some more history!;) |

| He is a historical figure of little or no significance. Categorizing him as a hero is ludicrous, and there is no verifiable evidence to suggest that he's directly responsible for any "mass murder." So, the answer is neither. |

After all he organized, and charted the first Spanish expedition to the new world - releasing the future of European colonial efforts in the Americas. |
