Now I realise it's an old film, but I'd just like to re-appreciate the technological power this film has. Forget the storyline, acting etc, just look at the film.

Might sound sad, but I still think it's one of the most exciting things I've EVER seen in that respect.

A. So...?

B. It's a game 'related' film and this is a game 'related' forum.

C. I never said it was a game.

On with the discussion, lol! :D :D

The animation is mind blowing,I remember seeing it in the theater. At times I couldn't tell. Its a shame it didn't do well.

Hear hear. It really blew me away.

If only they could make another movie with it because noone else can touch that quality yet. Square are masters.

didn't they lose a lot of money and thus ended Square Pictures?

Yeah, but that dosn't detract from the unparalleled job they did.

They pissed on anything that had come out before AND since. Noone's matched it yet.

I liked the movie! It was exactly the kind of movie I expected it to be. As long as it lives up to your own expectations, that is enough. I have it on dvd and still watch it from time to time:)

I remember being at the premiere for the movie here in San Francisco. Hiranobu Sakaguchi (The Final Fantasy series creator, director of the movie) sat right in front of me in the theater (since I was there as press so we sat with the Square peeps) and after the movie the whole theater roared and turned around towards him and clapped for like 10 minutes.

He was so happy that he had tears!
