actually most of the people that i know that listen to trance now were metalheads, and other metalheads that i know still really like it, but not as much as metal. Even I used to listen to metal and then switched over to trance.

As you can see, a mixture of genres represented throughout. I tried to keep the cheese down to a minimum and threw in a few good remixes of pop tunes for good measure. The person I burned this for is quite pleased with it too. Hope that helps. I suggest throwing as much vocal material that you can on...the majority of people listen to their music for vocals/lyrics so vocal mixes will ease them into material without vocals (remind them that most of the songs that have vocals will have a dub mix as well). Plus it will help get rid of the myth that "techno" consists of just noises and no words.

Throw in a mixture of genres then tell them to give you a list of what they like. From there you can narrow it down to what they're specific "sound" is. The CD above has ambient, techno, trance, progressive, drum & bass, classics, cheese and house on it.
