apparently from certain reliable (MTLTA) sources, the lineup is supposed to be close to the Guv Labour of Love Summer's End in calibre..

How right you are. What is it with Deep Dish and all the excitement? Its as if they are new?
As for NYE at GUV, its probably going to be mark oliver. He's gonna play a wicked set which includes almost every wicked track from 1998 till now. Its worth it. Unfortunately, I think this year im gonna have to spend it with friends instead of the guv.
Max Graham will probably be somewhere in Toronto too. |

hmmm, ok so u and skipper don't express ur excitement about a dj?
i.e. PVD is not new and look at the reviews and the amount of actual threads -not posts- threads! just for the anticipation and wind-down. yea ... 'holy goodness' ? tsts :wtf: |

To answer your question, No. Something does not have to be new to be good. My confusion is that Deep Dish has been around for some time now and pretty much have the same style and all of a sudden they are everyones favourite. They are coming back to guv for the 4th time within 12 months??!!???
I was trying not to call it the "Deep Dish BanWagon".

k fair enough! ... perhaps they just like TO and the Guv, who knows?
i don't know the reason why they are 'all of a sudden' 'everyone's' favourite, but speaking for myself, my excitement is derived from their brilliant performance in May at ARIA, and their new releases (esp. their afterclub mixes and new remixes). for me they just go under my skin. i can't help it ... :)

All I'm saying is that with most DJs, the excitement dies down the more frequently they visit.
PVD, for example, hasn't been here in 2 yrs...surely if he were here every couple of months, people wouldn't be so crazy about each visit because they know they'll be back soon enough. I just don't know why DD is an exception to this general rule...(using rule for lack of a better word, this is all just what I've noticed in TO) |

k, seriously now, the whole idea behind choosing TO and the Guv is cos it is after all the biggest club in Canada - and to give Canadian artists a chance to get onto the GU! (according to Ali in an interview)
