cleaning the computer...HOW DO I DO IT!?!! Heres what I mean..a while ago my sis had a guy stay over..since im nosy me, I go and check hte history(DELETED) but he forgot the temp internet files and cookies!! heh heh he...so yeah..he was checkin out porn, but heres the deal.
You know how when you type in the URL for a site, IE tries to finish it for you right? Well whenver I type w I get www.whitecottonpanties.com....and when i type s I get www.seductivemoveis.com..and whenever its a t I get www.terra.es.bla.bla.. U get the deal Ive tried everything I can think of to solve this...even some of those proggies from downloands.com to clean up after you.
HOW DO I GET RID OF IT? Do I need to reinstall IE? |

ok heres the deal. get a program called "evidence eliminator" from http://www.evidence-eliminator.com/ Trust me, this program rocks at cleaning up stuff. it even makes ya pc run faster, and thats from personal experience :)
run that... but if u got msn it wipes your list ;(
if u dont want to do that, try going to tools --> options --> clear history, and also in that same window "delete files", and check "offline content". if that dont work, go to c:\windows\ and delete the entire "temporary internet files" directory.
check your favourites, and delete anything that u dont want (that's where those autocomplete "whitecottonpanties.com" and comes from.
also, get this program called ad-aware and run that, it will catch the sex counter cookies and crap :)
next time, get him to use navigator and uninstall it after he leaves :)

if u dont wana use a proggie, this is what i do, not that i go on porn, just like to clean the whole comp out every now and again.
1. open IE and tools>options>delete files and then all offline content.
2. delete the history from that dialog aswel.
3. C:\temp, just delete all that neway, doubt there'll be nething in there tho.
4. C:\windows\temp, delete all that
5. C:\windows\temporary internet files, delete all them
6. C:\windows\recent, delete all, this is a hidden folder to u'll have to have ur settings to show them. (view>folder options>view)
8. delete nething sex releated in ur favorites folder (c:\windows\faveorites)
9. might aswel clear out the documents in the start menu aswel!
thats what i do and it clears the whole comp out!

U may also want to switch off activex downloading, as that can really mess up ur comp, and some are really nasty, I got mine on prompt :)

hmmm..Tried all of coups suggestions(Ive tried all but the recent folder) and still there.
tried ad aware...and still no luck.. :( |

| sorry man, i just did all the above and ur right it dont clean them, i thought it did, dont pay that much attention, sorry, well ive scanned me hd and i cant find the thing, the only other one is C:\windows\cookies but i no thats not it, they goto be hiding somewhere!! |

| yeah..Ive even tried searching for the word white(didnt want whitecottonpanties to turn up in the search file) and its not one of the files named white...its like its a ghost in IE...grrrr |
