Who are you going to vote for in the upcoming municipal elections. I've added an other, undecided, and not going to vote option as well.
Sorry if this has already been done but I couldn't find it when I did a search |

--man barbara hall in the star today has totally pulled a fast one - Now she says she's AGAINST the bridge to and expansion of the island airport.. WTF?!@? For months she was saying how she was for, why the sudden switch??
Sudden changes of heart like this are very unprofessional
Did you also read about how John Tory wants to ban all panhandlers from the downtown core?
Here are some things that the mayors stand for -- taken directly from the Toronto star word for word
John Tory - Former Rogers Cable executive
is for the bridge to the island airport as well as expansion as long as it's commercially viable -- doesn't want to undue the deal that has already been struck to build the bridge which actually will start being built the begining of NOV
wants to ban core-area panhandlers
is for incineration for answering Toronto's garbage question
wants to revitilize Toronto's movie industry
toughen stance on meat inspections
David Miller - Sitting city councillor
Is whole heartedly against expansion of the island airport as well as building the bridge connecting it to Toronto, Via extending bathurst st.
wants to revitilize Toronto's movie industry
wants to revitilze Toronto's harbourfront
wants to increase meat inspections
Barbra Hall - Former Mayor
Was for expansion of the island airport and building the bridge, but now is against apparently.
wants to revitilize Toronto's harbourfront, with environment and business in mind
against adams mine for the garbage problem and would like to ramp up the green bin program that is going in Etobicoke across the city
Tom Jakobek - Former City Counciller, Toronto City Budget Chief, rapped in a scandel over computer leasing
is for building the bridge, but not expansion of the island airport
wants to build a casino in Toronto
is against garbage incinartion believing it is too environmentally risky
believes in tougher meat inspections
John Nunziata
is for the bridge to the island airport as well as expansioin
main stance is on reducing crime
believes the responsibility of meat inspection should be "uploaded to the provincial level"
wants to weigh all options for the garbage problem, including Adams mine
----------------------------------
These are the candidates and their platforms, taken directly from clippings i've collected over the last month from The Toronto Star -- yea i'm a nerd =[
edit -- lol and don't mind all the spelling and grammer mistakes! i'm eating lunch while doing this! lol |

| Did you know that Jakobek wants to stop all recylcling programs in Toronto because they are useless. He says that most recycling goes to the dump. Well there is a half truth to this. A lot of recyling does end up in the dump, but this is only because Torontonians recylce so much, that the transfer stations can't handle all the volume. The solution to this problem is to increase the capacity of transfer stations, not get rid of the enviromentally sound program. The goal of Toronto is to divert 100% of all waste from the landfill by 2010 and this would be a step in the absolute wrong direction. |

If you don't vote - you shouldn't complain.
Take the time to vote. Our forefathers risked their lives for that right. |
