Markus Schulz :conf: Don't you mean Gabriel & Dresden... They always play acapella's in their sets. Markus Schulz doesn't do it that often. But indeed Armin is copying someone ;)
Anyways, if done properly it can sound great. IMO a track like Attention Deficit - What? with the vocals of Andain - Beautiful Things works very well. Also:
Remy - Dustsucker vs. Tom McRae - You Only Disappear (Acapella)
