If you're unsure, maybe you should be considering a new religion, or no religion at all. No sense in practicing something you're not 100% committed to.

I find it hard in this day and age to just "have faith". Who knows, maybe one of those crazy people who claimed that they were Jesus really was, I mean who's to say. People often times need to see things to believe them and in this day and age theres so much corruption in the world that one doesn't know what to believe. I , myself am Catholic and although I follow the religion, learn it in school, etc. I don't have a large amount of faith. I believe in treating people equally and that everyone has worth in this world. I guess you could say I look at religion as a suggestion and make my own guidlines to my life, learn from my mistakes, and take life from there.

That's the most important aspect of religion anyway imo, so you're fine. :)

I'm a non-practicing Buddhist but follow their ideals, so I live by a similar concept.

I find the practices of other religions facinating (reincarnation, etc.). I doubt I'd change religions and I find if I just appreciate my life and all thats in it along with following the proper rules then thats good enough in God's eyes.

Alright, I really feel like I have to comment here...

No matter what religion you follow, fear is not the reason you should be following it. If you're going to follow any religious "teachings", you should follow those teachings because you believe those teachings are true, or if not true, somehow relevant to everyday life. Not because you're worried about the consequences of what will happen if you don't follow them.

So yeah... don't ask this question, IMO a person should never be worrying "what will happen if I don't do what this religion tells me to." It's reminiscent of the scare tactics people used throughout history to gather converts.

I wasn't really asking it out of fear, which is why I don't follow the exact practices of any religions. I do what I feel is right in my heart and what is most beneficial for myself, others and society.

Or maybe religion is just a way for us to appreciate life, set rules and respect eachother and maybe God will judge us all the same. Thoughts?

That's why I don't believe in any religion in particular, they might be wrong or right, but for me none have passed the stage of hypothesis yet.. so I'd rather live without answers to existential questions then realise that I believed in something fake all my life when I die..

I do believe tough that some uber-power created us and somehow controls our life or part of it, and that we have a reason to be here... otherwise it wouldnt make any sense...
