On Thursday, 09 October 2003, legendary House music producer and deejay PAUL JOHNSON was hospitalized in Chicago suffering from massive pain in his lower extremities. PAUL JOHNSON remains hospitalized and will undergo major surgery to amputate his right leg.
PAUL JOHNSON has asked us to notify the public of his condition, and he requests your prayers and thoughts during this time of struggle in his personal life. PAUL JOHNSON wishes to assure everyone that with your love, prayers, and support that once recuperated he plans to take us all on a wild ride as only he can. Until further notice, all scheduled appearances and tours are cancelled.

From a close friend of Paul Johnson:
when Paul was a teenager, he and his brother got in a situation together that ended with the shooting of Paul (that is why Paul always travels with his brother). He was shot in the pelvic region, and the bullet lodged in the lower discs of the spine, rendering him parrallized from the waiste down. I know that it has taken several year's to remove and recover from. Paul has been in and out of the hospital for nealy a decade. Last time I talked to him he said that he had been going to therapy, and it had been productive, I can only imagine that it hasn't if they are talking amputation.
Paul is in great shape, and is very strong willed & stubborn....if amputation is what he has decided on, then you know it was a worst case scenario. |
