well its still not out here in Canada

Hmm.. No idea where in canada you live, because here it was out alright, at least yesterday it was playing in theaters :)

i was told that it was based on a true story, but after a few minutes of seeking, it is a VERY LOOSE interpretation of the true story. no cannibals, no chainsaws, just a very loose translation and interpretation.

i saw the original long time ago...very goood movie

but the remake is incredible

it gave me goosebumps and was insanely frightening..

michael bay.....the producer from bad boys...and pearl harbor..did an excellent job.

his long shots set the stage for intense moments...absolutely gruesome and wicked can describe this movie. Same story but with slight alterations to the plot...

the ring, signs, all the recent horror movies are like bugs bunny cartoons compared to this nightmare..

just got back from seeing it...HOLY ING ...this has got to be the FREAKIEST, SCARIEST movie i have ever seen and most likely will ever see...and the whole time u're watching it u're reminded of the fact that its based on a true story, and real ppl. went thru that sheer terror...ing insane...this was the only movie that really really got to me, i was almost abt to walk out, a number of ppl. actually did (i stayed, however)...extremely graphic, really, really intense and most definitely not for the faint of heart

im gonna research the real story as well

PS: just found out that there really was NO such family in texas, that there was only ONE such guy and he never did use a chainsaw, and even then the story is in fact just LOOSELY based on a true story... now im pissed off at those guys for making me feel this way...http://www.snopes.com/movies/films/chainsaw.asp

PPS: jessica biel has a reaaaallly fine body
ASOT100
yea it was based off Ed Gein so the actual story wasnt true, just the crazy guy who mutilated ppl was

ive not seen this yet, but im really happy to see horror movies making a comeback, although theyll never be as good as what they used to be in the early 90's and mid 80's.

for those who we're happy with the idea of freddy vs jason... apparently new line are gonna take it that one step further...... taking another of horror movies cult heroes 'Ash' from the amazing horror flick 'Evil Dead' so 'Freddy vs Jason vs Ash' i cant really see that weerking, but damn thatll be a funny film, especially if bruce campbell is gonna be part of the production like he was in evil dead , which is comedy genius :)

it wasnt so much scary as it was disturbing.
in sick people

The movie is not based on a true story. It is distantly based on the crimes of a cannibal serial killer from way back when.

The original is the greatest horror movie ever created.

do they have an invalid in the new one?
