Needle issue?

I got 2 Stanton 680 needles. One is a 680MK2 one's a 680EL
Both are brand new, but the MK2 does not produce as much sound. The sound is not as clean. I tried cleaning it with a brand new pencil eraser and noticed no difference. I really dont know whats up? Is it just a poor quality needle or....?

Whats the deal?

Umm, cleaning needles with pencil erasers is not a good idea. You can easily damage them in that way.

Get a needle cleaning solution, stanton has a kit with a bottle of fluid and a little brush that you gently wipe the needle with (from back to front, otherwise it can snap!)

If you can get to downtown Toronto, check out Metro Sound on Yonge (a bit north of College on the west side) and buy a needle cleaning kit.

The reason why I did that, is cause someone told me to.

Good thing they didnt tell me to jump off a bridge... damn.

Ill check that place out!
Thanks!
