i will come to new york next week (nov 1st) and stay for 2 weeks
the reason for my travel is pleasure....but i would like to get recommendations that arent in guide books like where i can buy vinyls or experience something worth telling

For vinyls, check out these stores: Decadance, Satellite, Eightball

Nov 14 - experience a 6-hour set by PVD, in the company of the best TA's :)
If you're still around the following night (Nov 15), come to Arc for John 00 Fleming

Museum of Sex, that is. I just went this past Sunday... definitely an educational (seriously) experience.

History of how New York City changed the perception of sex.

27th and 5th Ave.

satellite is on bowery just below houston. (F or 6 train to lafayetter and houston, walk east to bowery) it is just west of the lower east side area, where there is some hipster shopping.

8 ball is on 10th between 1st adn A *i think* or in the vicinity somewhere. it is in the east village which is a cool area. lots of good lounges and places to eat. there are at least 5 other record shops in the area. you can take the NRW or 6 to astor place and walk east on st marks to get to that area.

also, do a search on record shops in this forum, as this question has been asked at least 10 times this year.
