*sighs*. What's with all the Montrealers bashing djs? Relax all of you (non Montrealers included). Stop acting all high and mighty and defensive because your beloved Dave Clarke got laughed at in that video (and rightly so) it's ing FUNNY. If you can't see that as a joke, hence why it's posted in the JOKE section of TA then you need to not take things so seriously. I've seen Dave Clarke spin here at a party, he was good. Nothing completely mind shattering and innovative but he was good.I'm not one to flame (and I hope this post isn't considered one) it's just I think you all took things way too seriously for a sec and need to look at things again.
P.S. If you want to see REAL skill, get into turntablism (Dj Q-Bert, Dj Shadow - the ing KING of sampling), or experimental electronic music (Aphex Twin, Autechre, Squarepusher etc). |

I think this thread needs some background info. This vid was shot @ Twstd in Holland, where the DJs that get booked play a so-called b-sides set, which means that they are not allowed to play the music that they are known for. So in Dave's case, he would not be allowed to play either techno nor electro. The result was that Dave played everything from disco over hiphop to rock at this night. I think the bashing of him that has occured here tells us more about the people on this forum rather than Dave's skills :rolleyes:
Personally I think that it is good to see that Dave (who is usually perceived as a full of himself, pompous techno-ass) doesn't take his job THAT seriously, and still knows how to goof off a little in the booth, which he does quite excellently here. And you gotta give the man props for the air violin/trumpet/guitar :D |

Ok, I repeat. WHY are you all making a huge deal out of this? FFS. As was explained on the first page we know why he was spinning the way he was that night (plus nothing wrong with the clip, it was funny as hell and Dave is a DAMNED GOOD DJ!).
