Guys I'm faced with a dilemma here. For my banner and stuff, I have this pic in it that isn't technically mine. Then again, I don't know who's it is. Is it ok to use it? It makes the look of the site that much better.
I'm sure I won't be the first among some of you to use an image not technically theirs. But honestly, is it a big deal? It's pretty much a personal site, so who cares, right?
EDIT: It's kinda like these sigs we are using, some have technically "Copyrighted" images in them. But not one cares, right? |

yeah, XHTML (XML -> XHTML as in SGML -> HTML). Already an standard, not widely used tho, people keep using transitional HTML 4.01. Actually not even that, it's hard to find a web page with doctype definition and all properly done.
Turbonium, rule is: use it till someone complains :tongue2 |

btw guys, sometimes I feel retarded that I'm trying to learn HTML XHTML, and soon enough PHP, when it has nothing to do with my day-to-day life. I mean, talk about nerdy and retarded. Any of you guys feel this way as well? It's not like I'm a web developer or anything, but I just feel the need to know this stuff. Also helps me when I want to be a bit creative and make my own content, but is that an excuse to waste so much time learning this stuff? My dad would probably think so, but whatever who cares.
btw I'm planning to learn C++, just for the hell of it, lol. I already know quite a bit of Java, so it shouldn't be that hard...
So what do you guys think. Am I:
a) retarded and wasting my time?, or
b) one of those do-it-yourselfer truth seeking "gotta know how it works and be able to use it myself" kinda people?

Just learn for the sake of it, if you love doing so.
Some ppl need to have something to do with it when they learn anything, not my case. if you are like me, enjoy :) |

| if any cell's content is wider than the cell width you defined, then ALL the column's cells get stretched. |

Yea I discovered that while putting images into one of my columns. I was testing to see whether the column would stretch or if the image would be cut-off (which seemeded more logical). Apparently not. |

I'd like to know who doesn't.
I use 1152*864, I find it to be the "sweet spot" on 17 inch monitors... |

Any way to tell it to vertically center an image or block of text? Somehow I feel putting in several
in a row isn't the best way of doing it. |

| I'm guessing I have to run a JavaScript to GetWidth(), etc., and then shove that into the HTML (divided by 2 or whatever)... |

| Yea, just don't know how to use the stuff it can do. |
