i want to know what song got you into the whole dance/trance thing! For me it was songs off the radio. they had nice dance beats. i know i dont like dance crap any more cause i like trance 100 times better. but for me dance was a great way to learn what trance music was. for example nightcrawler- push the limit. seriously was the one that lead me into the trance scene! I know you guys used to dig dance remixes and stuff like that! i just wanna know. thanks amit

I am a Classical music fan. one day I discovered the Orbit/Corsten version of Adagio on Napster. by accident. I became a trance fan.

now it's just a lot of electronic music in general, Aphex Twin being the most recent ... hard to find new stuff where I am which makes this fourm invaluable.

I pretty much stumbled upon trance on the internet and became hooked...amazing how hearing just a few songs can turn you completely on to a kind of music but trance has that power.

The Vengaboys and Alice Deejay got me hooked
LOL
sad but true

I started going to parties about 4 yrs. ago w/ a friend of mine and originally was hooked on Drum and Bass. I had never listened to any electronic music (lotsa Grateful Dead, phish, Widespread Panic etc...)before and heard Aphrodite at my first party and was hooked. So for a couple years I kind of stayed in the "jungle room" at parties, partly b/c I really liked Jungle and partly to keep from having to dodge glo-stix. Then about 2 yrs. ago I went to see Digweed and although I never really listen to his type stuff anymore, I was definitely turned away from the DnB and have been trancin' out ever since.

Friend's CD, had some Antiloop stuff on there. From there I searched for Antiloop stuff on the net and came across trance.

Big up to Radio 1 who introduced me to the whole dance scene..after living in Europe for 15 years and then moving over to Canada I kinda thought that dance scene is pretty dead here comparing to Europe so I started listening to dance radio stations over the internet and especially Radio 1. Seriously, first off Judge Jules shows, respekt to him I remember him spinning DJ Journeyman - The Journey which I thought was quite a nice tune that got me hooked and delerium - silence (airscape mix). The ESSENTIAL MIXES by PvD and many other djs and then I got all the trance energy 2000 sets and completely realized this was definately the type of music that I like.
Peace out.

Halcyon on and on - Orbital

I was hooked the day I heard it... But the music didn't mean much until I heard "9pm Till I come" (ya ya.. but that guitar riff is soo cool) on new years in Thailand..

I dunno, I guess I was always kinda interested in electronic music. I remember back in 93 or summit (when I was about 10 I guess) I used to listen to this electronic music program on Monday nights between 10pm and 12pm (when my parents thought I was sleeping). It wasn't a commercial one either, it was on one of the alternative stations here (102.7 for Melbourne peeps) and they played some pretty advanced stuff I guess. Can't remember how I started listening to it, but that's where I found out about acts like Ultrasonic (yeah I know  ) and so on.

As for trance in particular? Well It would've probably been from my early clubbing days like back in 96/97. So we're talking stuff like Delegate - Want You To Stay and CM - Dream Universe. But I do remember back in 95 or 96 or something, walking into a record store where they had Legend B - Lost In Love playing, and I guess that's when I was hooked officially, and that's what kicked the whole thing off (even though it took me about 6 months to find out the name of that bloody track!).

Yes yes!!

Another orbital fan, yay! I was very into orbital at first, and halycon was the transition track. Also, back in '98 they started playing diggers and oakenfold on this underground radio station in wash dc...that's how I got hooked, and then I saw PvD live, and got completely obsessed. :)
