Who, despite popular opinion, did not invent the lightbulb.
It was patented in britain a year earlier by a british inventor :toothless . |

The first electric light was invented by englishman Humphry Davy.
The first practical lightbulb was also invented by an englishman... Joseph Swan.
Those canadians just came up with something inbetween ;), Edison bought the patent and fiddled with it for a bit, making it commercially viable, he patented it a year after swan, and swan latter sucessfuly took him to court over it. |

I know the English created the first electric light, but we were talking about patenting the lightbulb :)
OH well, the lightbulb was really an international project with help from everyone :) |
