Im pretty sure one fire was arson and another was caused by a hunter who shot off a flare because he got lost.

I hope they get this fire under control soon, and my dad is outta town and wont be able get his belongings if they have to evac where he lives.

Picture from satellite..notice how you can't see much detail in cities or the sort..that is how big this is.

That's gotta suck. Brings new meaning to the phrase, "There's gonna be a hot time in the old town tonight."

omg!!!! I' feel so bad for you!!

I dont really know much of what's going on, just a bit I saw on the news... I've never even been close to a fire...
Your pics gave me goosebumps! I hope your house survives!!!

It's so tragic, I hope it gets extinguished soon

this is ing ridiculous!!! man, that's really scary. i'm sorry to see / hear about this, it must be bad for all the people that are affected by the fires.

that's terrible man... i feel sorry for you :(

on the other hand, those are excellent pics you took there and I'm sure a news agency or fire control agency are looking like pics like that..

I'd burn a huge 200 foot circle around my house. That way nothing near it can burn....although I would go to jail for burning the neighbors....its a small price to pay to keep your house intact.

yeah that fire is close to you, I feel real bad for those who lost their homes.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone...

In our area the worst has past....but it is still burning out of control in alot of places...

Hopefully things will get better in the next few days...

Stay safe anyone who's in the middle of this. Us Aussies know about bush fires and I'm sure most are sparing a thought for ya.

I certainly hope that you guys get some rain soon. It's doubtful it will be over until it rains...

My uncle says he can see the fires from where he lives (San Diego).
