who do u think is the cheesyest dj ever! my choise would have to be fatboy slim! i cant stand him! secondly which artist do u think has damaged our trance sceen the most, i would say the vengaboys, the commercial audience see this as trance and so they think trance is crap and dont bother listening to the underground stuff. a uk magazine called IDJ are doing a readers poll to see who is the cheesyest dj, the results are out next month, should be interesting!

I saw sonique at a live festival, maybe she was just entertaining the masses, but my word..never heard such a cheesy set in all my life.
Oh and Alice Deejay has probably damaged our scene the most, everyone now sees trance as fluffy, repetitive and boring after her chart 'releases'....
Infact just thinking about this subject depresses me, and i'm in my happy mood at the moment...

This doesn't depress me. I find it kinda funny.

1. I think Fatboy Slim has done the most damage to our scene, because he doesn't take it seriously (he's admitted to it), and makes mediokre music in every dance genre on his cds, and combines it with his name to be absolutely sure he'll have one success per CD. Oh, and his music has been crap since 97' or so, and even then he was marginal at best.

2. Cheesiest? Maybe Fragma, Vengaboys or this polish group that sings a song called 'Banya Ortisgamya' or something like that. You'd have to ask this local radio station in Chicago 'Kiss 92.7' which tries to play the cheesiest dance music in existance. After giving it a fair chance, I think that's really what the programming director tries to do. The cheese that pumps out of there makes Oakenfold seem like Debussy...
Astronaut
Fatboyslim?????
The most damage?????
Hmmm....I dont think so.
I haven't heard any of his sets but I have all his
albums and I would never call it trance.

He has different style.Trip-hop or somtin'.

Vengaboys or Alicedeejay, that're other things.
They are realy cheesy!:(

HARD HOUSE NOT ALLOWED

hehe

1. Alice Deejay
2. DJ IRENE

3. any hard/progressive house producer/djs, they not only damage the scene but my ears too.

Fatboy Slim damage? I don't think so. The mans a genius (doesn't tread on Trance bounderies anyway). He's got to be one of the most original faces in the dance scene at the moment. Everytime you think you've got him figured he comes out with something like Star 69. Belter.

It's got to be Sonique. Apparently her annoying whining during her sets are "trademark vocals". Er no, shut up and play some tunes. It's not even that she's bad, it's that the press make everybody else believe that she's seen as some sort of trance diva by the rest of us.
