comon people, let's look a little farther. sl1200's are tables from the '70ies. Why pay 550€ for a dated turntable with no features, while for 419€, you can get a turntable that has the same precision, the same sound quality (and if we may beleve the manufacurer) and the same durability? It's a waiste of money.
(just my opinion)

550 pounds for a technics?? daaamn thats rediculous. i got mine (brand new) for 400 american a pop. and i thought that was expensive.

anyway, i'd like to try out these "acura" turntables. i've never even heard of htem or seen them anywhere.

Take it easy man, he's american, whe all know what high (*cough*) quality their education system is.

As for the TT, I think they are fine, Id' buy them over a technics any day, no way I'm spending 550 on a TT which you can easily get for much much less.

and thats why the acuras are selling like hot cakes worldwide and the technics are thiking about ceasing production due to lack of demand for their product.

I've done this discussion already with a guy from new-line.

Precision, he found them to be more precise overall, I found them to have some less precise numbers than stated
Sound quality, ok most dj TT's now you don't have to keep the sound quality in mind anymore, they're about equal.
Durability, how can you say TT's that have been released some months ago are as durable as TT's that have proven to be durable over 20 years. Come back again in 10 years and then you can say they are durable or not.

The problem is, some people prefer having proven quality over claimed quality. I don't like all those extra features, cuz I consider them as gadgets. Maybe it's better than Techs (well they took a damn long time to get there then!) Well then, each time you find a better turntable you're going to throw the old one away and buy the new one (actually that dude answered yes to that question). In my opinion, yes they are maybe better, but I doubt you'll still see them in a couple of years, because they'll probably already be surpassed by the next model. Keep in mind those guys lose the old models when a new one comes out. Technics still supports the original mk2's...

Don't talk garbage mate.

I bought a set of vestax pdx-2000's two years ago, suppoedly the turntable to take over from technis. i sold them within a year cos the torque was far to high, you had basically all control over the record, the tone arm was made of some awful pvc e and and the target lights, which weren't even fixed to the turntables broke.

my brother had his technics for 8 years and nothing ever went wrong the only reason he sold them was to upgrade to the mark 3's cos he kept hitting the on off switch by accident. people buy the technics still and are willing to pay so much for such a dated product because they are better than all the other turntables that come out which are supposed to be "the turntable to take technics' crown". i've heard it all before, and its not true. technics will rule for a long time to come.

and with their new cd turntable coming out early next year it looks like they are set to conquer the djing world.

good on you technics, i salute you.

Anyone else think that Akiyamas website is layed out pretty much exactly like Numarks, check them out:

www.akiyamadj.com
www.numark.com

Oh and they might be better than Techs, but I will go for the Techs over ANYTHING else, anyday, they do what a DJ needs, so why would I want anything else.

Hey anybody had any experiance with there mixers, the VCA3 looks good, was just wonder what the built and sound quality is like.
djlemeir
u didnt realise that they terrrribly ressemble stanton products
like the earphone and the decks (the acuras)
and the stantons str150 acuras and the american audio 4.5 look identical.

someone sed earlier that theres a factory in maylaysia that makes they decks and the companys just stamp there names on them.
so all these decks r just knockoffs.\
the only ones i would trust to be authentic is numark, vestax and technics. unles proven wrong
