I am not much into industrial detroit techno, but I am ALL INTO INTELLIGENT DETROIT TECHNO, for example artists like Model 500, Derrick May, Carl Craig ...
I was awfully strongly influenced by such artists as Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Crystal Method, Future Sound Of London, The Orb, and above all, Orbital, to name a few for example.
However, I am not much into rave or hardcore techno music ... too hard for me, I guess ... |

Even if it's not my favorite genre I enjoy techno a lot, here in Medellin (Colombia) it's the favorite genre of everybody, people likes it a lot !!! This has been a spectacular year for techno since a lot of good DJs came here to play:
Marc Carola, Mario Piu, Deetron, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, and others, we also had superstars Mauro Picotto and Carl Cox, which played last weekend in the best party ever thrown here !!!
I think that all genres of electronic music are good, neither of them is better than the other, it's just a matter of taste. |

hey, like satelites i havent really been following the Tekno scene. weve all seen countless threads on the 'all time great trance' tracks. Just wondering wot people thought the greatest Tekno trackS WERE. my knowledge of tekno only spans to Jeff Mills and Laurrent Garnier unfortunately.
Cheers. |

Mills and Garnier aren't tekno, they're techno. Which is completely different. Tekno is not my cup of tea. Too vague, too noisy imo. As for techno: Mills is great live, haven't had the pleasure of seeing Garnier live yet, but maybe this monday..
And as for good techno tracks, this is my personal top 5 of the moment:
Lars Klein - Bald heads garden [PATTERNS 009]
DJ Hansz & Jan Liefhebber - Search & destroy (Lars Klein remix) [PATTERNS 010]
Coming Soon - Influential [EC 056]
Lars Klein - Chushingura [NW DYNAMICS 005]
Patrik Skoog - Mankind 17 A1 [MANKIND 017] |

Go to all of them !! Sell your TV set if you have to !! Don't miss Carola for nothing, he's the most underrated DJ in the world, additionally he's a very nice person, when he came this year was the best and cheapest party (only US$ 10) for Carola until 8 AM !! |
