Sasha @ Avalon, pretty killer!!! Don't listen to too much progressive but it was a sick set! Nice flow to it, although a little on the slow side. The only tune I can ID is...
Dave Gahan - Dirty Sticky Floors (Junkie XL Dub)
Can anyone ID the last tune he played? I'm sure it's a classic, was by far my favorite track played of the night. Good stuff, was my first time seeing Sasha live as well (yes I live in a cave, it's fun). |

Sasha was alright, not really my style. I really tried to get into the music, but I guess prog isn't my thing. It was fun though, good night.
What time did he start, I got there at 12 and ppl told me he had been spinnig for a while...
Only tracks I could ID:
White Stripes vs Austin Leeds - Seven Nation Army
R.E.M - Great Beyond (?)
Dave Grahan - Dirty Sticky Floors (Junkie XL Dub)
Anyone know that song he played at around 1 and kept on getting slower and then sped up again? |

Last night was great, as good as Prog get's for me anyways heh :D
I loved his opening, a slow, chill, Trancy kind of melody that I really liked. I have to say I've never heard Sasha play that "Dark" before...Kind of the style I've heard Digweed play many times, so I was suprised that Sasha was playing like this, but it was great! I think it had to do with the way Avalon was set up...It had the "dark Halloween" feel to it with Halloween decerations everywhere, so maybe that's what put him in the "Dark" kinda mood heh. He also played A LOT of break beat tracks at the end of his set for like the last 20-30 minutes at least - More breaks I've ever heard him play in a set actually :D
Hey Darkfall, I got there at 11:30 exactaly and walked right upstairs when I got there and Sasha just had came on.
But yea it was a great night, I haven't gotten "Progg'ed" like that in a while heh - And it was also a great finish to get my Northern Exposure CD signed :toocool:
I hope that who ever goes to see him in New York on NYE has a great time too :D |
