| where can i find computer shops in ny?is there something like tothenam court road in london for example?i dont look for a specific shop,just an area packed with shops |

CompUSA: big computer store.
420 Fifth Ave. Between 37th and 38th Streets
or
1775 Broadway Between 7th and 8th Ave.
don't kno if that's what you are looking for, but there really isn't a street of computer stores. at least to my knowledge |

J&R Music World -- the premier electronic store in NYC has virtually everything imagineable
take the N/R train to the City Hall stop or the 4,5,6 to the Brooklyn Bridge stop.
you can also catch hard-to-find items on Canal St in stores usually owned by Yemeni immigrants and Hassidim---not near Broadway where the tourists are, but farther east past Essex St.
take N/R trains to Canal St. and head east past the Bowery (you'll walk past a Buddhist temple on the corner of canal and the bowery)--keep going and you'll hit a load of grimey-looking electronic stores. As long as you know what specifically you want and are willing to haggle, you can get good deals.
also avoid random electronic stores that are sprinkled throughout midtown--they typically have tons of items filling up their bright display windows and advertise exhorbitantly cheap prices; Stay away and shop at reputable dealers. |

| i usually look for those shack shops, thats usually run by ONE person and hes really fat. But dont be scared, these places have great prices and their quality of work (repairs/building PCs) is really good. |

they r ALL extremely overpriced.. Go to dell.com or techbargains.com or www.pricegrabber.com or newegg.com and shop there..
