All right,
I'm from the balto/dc area, and I've always pronounced Technics like I would technical, just without the -al... (tech-nicks).
Now I've heard some dj's and wanna-be dj's pronounce it like techniques. Now, what the hell is that? It's not spelled techniques!!! Jeezus.
Did that come from dj's with foreign accents saying it like that, and stupid-ass Americans took the pronounciation from them or what?
They also say "gare-age" instead of garage...it looks like garage to me. |

The first time I heard technics pronounced was actually 'techniques', but I've been saying and have heard them pronounced 95% of the time technics. [not sure which is correct]
Also, a friend from the UK actually pronounces garage, 'gare-age'. She laughed at how we said it... [I beleive 'gare-age' is the correct pronounciation] I still say garage tho...
In my eyes, its all about communication. So if your n the states, americanize it... as long as u communicate ur ideas.
I actually heard (I wish I knew which country he was from now) adidas pronounced 'ah-dee-DOS' (little emphasis on the 1st and 2nd syllable). =/ |

Its technics ("tek-niks"),not techniques ("tek-neeks").
There should be no question of this sort,if u where taught reading and punctuaction at school,u should be able to tell the diffrence. My friends always pronounces them "Tek-neeks" and it rages me cuz hes wrong, but he sez he's right,it just saddens me to know my friends are dyslexic. |

Well, I'm just gonna keep on saying tech-nicks ;), if those people can't read or speak, it's not really my problem, hehe. :)
I will never bring myself to say gare-age though! :) |
