| I'm currently looking for a new sound card. I'm using a soundblaster 16 right now and all my recorded dj sets come out distorted. Any Suggestion ? |

It all depends what you are using it for.
Im assuming that you are trying to record mixes via your line in (connected to a mixer). This should work fine without distortion... check your cables, make sure they are all plugged into the right ports.
If you are 100% it is your card, then and all you want to do is line-in recording, then i would say just get the Sound Blaster Live!. It will work fine.
However, if you want to do more, like mix on the computer... etc, get a soundcard that has either 2 different output devices, or a 5.1 options. So you can split the front/rear speakers for different channels. |

I second that exact card. Unless you are against phono in/out (you will need an amp for your headphone), this card is amazing! And I love the philosophy: no-frills, great sounding card without useless features. Good stereo sound is all I need! :)
Good luck! |

I'm probably going to buy the SB Live Audigy 2 Platinum at some point in the near future, as I want a bit more out of my sound card than just prosumer sound (i.e. playing games).
The 2496 is very tempting, but I'm not sure I would pick it unless I had a separate comp devoted to sound stuff. |
