Hi everyone,

im a swedish guy and are coming to nyc for a weekend (13-16 nov). i wanna know where i should go if i wanna hear some great trance music. I hear good things about Arc, roxy, avalon and soundfactory. i might add that im 30 y/o, so a mature crowd at the clubs would be nice =)

Take care!

Ok, good to hear. I´ve heard good things about websters hall too.

What´s the cover gonna be when pvd/jf spinns @ roxy and arc? Just a ballpark figure.

Regular price for PVD will be $40
You can get advanced tickets for $35, either at Satellite Records, or online at www.ticketweb.com (after fees, you'll pay close to $40 anyways) - that will save you some time in line.

For J00F at Arc, it will be $25, but you'll find out soon enough about how to get on the guestlist for $20 admission

For both nights, expect the feature DJ (PVD on Fri, J00F on Sat) to play 2-8 am.

Webster Hall is a nice space, but the vibe isn't too good.
Maybe you can try them on Thurs - I think they have Ladies Night then. :p

If you want to do Sound Factory, do it after J00F @ Arc - it will be open til the afternoon, and from what I've heard, doesn't really get going til the morning hours.
On Fridays, it is 18+, and hip-hop is played on the main floor. I've heard they have wet t-shirt contests then though. :p

The parties that have already been listed are going to be the best trance events in the city for the time that you are there; however, if you are STRESSING the mature crowd aspect of your post don't expect do find it. I'm only 19 and I think that the majority of people that will show up to these events will have the maturity levels of 16 year olds, but don't be discouraged. The music will make up for it ;)

webster hall is usually where the european ppl go whenever they're in the states. I've personally never been to an event outside of the States, but I can tell you that its not THE place for trance unless you like the really hard stuff (cosmic gate, taucher) style of stuff. Taucher ain't even a resident there anymore. PVD on the 14th and DEFINITELY nice warren on the 15th is where you'll wanna be.

good for you man. being in new york by chance on a pvd night....nice!! even if you have seen him a trillion times like many of us, new york nights are awesome. certainly worth the pricey entrance.

Agreed. However, at least prices are coming down. The last time PVD spun @ Roxy tickets were like $50. Perhaps they know they can't away with that in this depressed economy!
