... and the boy who cried wolf...
so i got an email about a missing child the other day that included a request to forward to others and picture of a little girl. i promptly tossed the email in the trash can and thought "man, these email pranks are getting more and more realistic..." i didn't realize until i was watching the news this weekend that there really is a missing child and that the email wasn't a fake... i feel like such a jackass now. i know a lot of my friends are in the same boat as me... it's sad that when someone ACTUALLY needs help, the email is regarded as another hoax... i hope they find cecilia... i saw her parents on tv... it was pretty sad... people need to stop forwarding those stupid email hoaxes so that we can all start taking our emails seriously again... there is no such thing as email tracking... the CDC doesn't type in ALL CAPS AND HAVE 20 EXCLAIMATION MARKS IN THEIR EMAILS!!!!!!!... the cancer society isn't going to give money to just ONE of millions of cancer patients just cause you forward an email... morons... ok.. sorry.. i just started ranting at the end... anyways...

I wouldn't worry about other people doing the same as you did - by now, the number of people who haven't heard about her disappearance in Toronto is small.
Especially after they aired the case on America's Most Wanted. |
