I was wondering if anybody had some funny/horror stories from house parties that they have spun at.
I did a Halloween party this past weekend and it was a trip.
My gear was set up next to the beer pong table and under some leaky heating pipes so my tables were wet and wild. A dude in a giant pumpkin suit knocked the needles off the records, and they kept shutting off the speakers cause the "cops were comin". The best, though, was when a drunk guy came up and asked "where'd you get those big cd's?"
Prior to this i had only played out in a club and needless to say my friends basement was much different than the booth at the club. I still had a blast though and everyone seemed to have a good time. |

Yeah we set up my buddies speakers on our other buddies porch, well it seemed that the music was louder 1 mile down the road than it was up close. Needless to say the cops showed up and it was wierd that my mixer was unplugged and safely stashed in my car before the cops got around to the equipment. wierd.
I've also had horrible setups like when my mixer was resting on a pillow that was setting on a case of beer. The funny part was the tables we were using were the new technic mk5's, good equipment, bad setup. |

Funny Stiry,
but when I have my own equipment, I would make sure no one touches it! |

| I just like it when someone comes (to the party) who has never seen a live dj (or turntables) or has heard what you're playing and all they can do is just stare.. |

| I've got a horror story from halloween. I brought a -ton of equipment to a house for a costume party (tables, mixer, records, speakers, subwoofer, stands, cables- very heavy stuff). I set it up outside in the pool house slash bar. Everything looked really nice, it was a perfect setup. It took me about 1.5 hours to set it up (not to mention the time and effort it took me to load everything up from my house to my car then from my car to the party house). I started playing and it sounded great! However, about 20 minutes later, the cops were there. They kicked everybody out. Everybody left. I didn't even get to play Thrill Her. I was left there alone to load my back into the car. Damn pigs. |

That sucks! The house party I was at spinning for a bit outside was fun. Even when the cops came, the only thing they told us to do was turn it out, and make sure everyone was "of age" to drink and then they left. |

Here's me @ a halloween party 2 weeks ago... They had me setup my equipment on a keyboard stand with a heavy board over it... I had no room for my turntables so just ended up using CDs all night...notice how the equipment bends in towards the middle...
Everything turned out allright and nothig was broken by the end of the night.

Do you have photos of it? Or maybe a small description on how you made it, what materials, costs etc.? Is it durable too? |
